Re: PCR positive results after isolation
I think the advice is not to take a PCR as you are likely to still test positive for a good while as the test is ultra sensitive and detects any trace of the virus still left.
A lateral flow test is used on days 6 & 7 currently to release you back from isolation with negative tests on both days giving the green light.
If still postive on lateral flow after this 10 days is the limit to the self isolation rules.

I don't know abut test results, but I've still got symptoms (albeit milder) more than a fortnight after coming down with Covid. Maybe an isolated, atypical case, but seems that this variant continues for longer than the original one for some people.

daveyg a PCR can detect it up to 90 days after.

Which is why they're worthless I was told not to use one for 90 days by track and trace

"It's all unclear"

Yes, it is. You can test positive for a while after recovery, or it can take a few days.

For me, it was exactly a week after I tested positive for the first time, to when I tested negative.

It's all a bit random.
